The Beam talks to your phone over WiFi, and your phone handles the streaming, alerts, and cloud sync. The Beam2 does not need the phone, it has its own LTE connection. The Beam is cheaper, lighter, and a good fit if you just want a reliable camera that records and backs everything up to the app.
When the Beam feels a sudden brake or impact, it saves a 40-second clip. The next time your phone connects, that clip uploads to your Nexar Classic account. You can watch it, download it, or send it from the app.
The Beam records over the oldest footage on your microSD card as new footage comes in. Anything flagged as an incident is protected from being overwritten. It supports microSD cards up to 256 GB (Class 10 recommended).
Yes. The Nexar Classic app works on iPhone (iOS 14 and newer) and most modern Android phones. The Beam doesn't work with Apple CarPlay.
